Product Description:

The 5PP120.1214-37R is an integrated power panel manufactured by B & R Automation within the 5PP Power Panels series. As a combined controller and human-machine interface, it replaces separate industrial PCs and touch monitors, allowing direct interaction with motion, I/O, and process tasks at the machine. Its embedded hardware executes application code while the built-in touchscreen presents real-time data, alarms, and recipe parameters to support line changeovers and routine diagnostics in automated cells. Because the control and display functions are integrated in one housing, panel space is used more efficiently and there is no need for a separate monitor cable run.

The front display measures 12.1 in (307 mm) diagonally and renders graphics at 800 × 600 resolution. Readability is supported by a luminance of 350 cd/m² and a 300:1 contrast ratio, values suited to bright shop-floor environments. Input is collected through an analog resistive touch layer that responds to a stylus or gloved finger contact. Two USB ports allow connection of barcode scanners or storage keys, while the Type I CompactFlash slot provides removable media for recipe files. The unit uses 2 MB of flash memory for system storage and leaves additional working memory available in SDRAM. Viewing angles remain stable across the panel’s intended mounting orientations.

A Geode SC2200 processor running at 266 MHz supervises logic and visualization and communicates through 10/100 Mbps Ethernet or an RS232 service port. The unit draws up to 20 W max from a 24 VDC ±25% supply and withstands washdown cleaning thanks to its IP65 / NEMA 250 Type 4X front bezel. Application variables and graphics are buffered in 128 MB of SDRAM. The housing measures 362 × 284 × 65.5 mm, which allows installation in relatively shallow panels. This combination supports local operation while still allowing networked communication to upstream control systems.
