Product Description:
The B & R Automation 5PC900.TS77-09 is an industrial PC module in the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. The device serves as a deterministic computing platform for machine control, data collection, and HMI tasks on plant floors. With its integrated processor, chipset, and field interfaces, the unit replaces separate PLCs and supervisory computers, allowing centralized execution of motion sequences, logic processing, and visualization routines inside enclosed cabinets. This arrangement lets one cabinet-mounted platform run control logic and operator-facing software at the same time. Its mechanical format integrates easily into control panels and provides the durability expected of embedded controllers used in continuous-duty automation lines.
Processing resources center on the Intel Celeron 1020E dual-core CPU. Each core runs at a base frequency of 2200 MHz, and the architecture uses 2 execution cores that share a 2 MB Smart Cache for deterministic real-time response. The CPU sits on an Intel HM76 chipset connected through a DMI external bus rated at 5 GT/s, and its thermal envelope is limited to 35 W, which helps simplify cabinet cooling. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 hardware drives up to three displays, so the unit can support local visualization while maintaining controller functions. The DisplayPort interface supports revision 1.1 signaling, while the DVI output reaches 1920 × 1200 pixels at a 32-bit color depth.
System memory is expandable to 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, enabling large code images and production databases to reside in primary storage. The memory controller sustains a bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s, so motion loops and graphical updates can be executed without unnecessary delay. Four serial-ATA ports provide 4x SATA connections for solid-state drives or rotating media, allowing separate operating system and data volumes within the same unit. This storage layout supports coordinated drives, recipe handling, and quality assurance logging on modern production cells. It also allows archived production records to be kept apart from the primary application files when separate drive allocation is preferred.
