Product Description:
The 5PC810.SX02-00 is an industrial controller produced by B&R Automation as part of the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. It houses the CPU, storage media, and network interfaces required to execute deterministic PLC tasks, exchange data with higher-level systems, and drive local operator panels. By concentrating these core functions in a single IP20 cabinet device, the unit streamlines machine layouts and supports centralized coordination of sensors, actuators, and motion modules. This layout suits machines that need one cabinet-mounted controller to manage logic, visualization links, and plant communication from the same location.
The controller is powered from a nominal supply of 24 VDC ±25% and draws a continuous current of 6 A, while an inrush current of 50 A for less than 300 µs is tolerated at startup. Its metal housing is rated IP20 and measures 254.6 mm deep by 270 mm high, allowing installation in standard control racks. Two CompactFlash Type I bays enable removable program or recipe storage, and 512 kB of SRAM is available for high-speed variables with 192 kB retained after power loss. Network traffic is handled through two shielded RJ45 ports that operate at 1 Gbit/s, and a DVI-I connector is provided for direct monitor attachment. Additional serial diagnostics or fieldbus converters can be connected through the built-in RS232 headers without using expansion cards.
Peripheral and service connectivity is widened by five USB 2.0 Type-A sockets, while field devices that still rely on asynchronous links are served by two RS232 channels configurable up to 115 kbit/s. The available USB ports can host keyboards, storage media, and other external peripherals used by the machine. A power-fail buffer of 10 ms bridges brief supply dips. This helps maintain process variables until the upstream 24 V line recovers.
