The 5PC810.SX01-0 is a new generation industrial PC unit produced by B & R Automation to maintain an impressively high level of operational performance in applications that require maximum computing power. This industrial device is a product of past experience and some of the latest industrial technology, it serves as a logical advancement over the APC610 product series and is recommended for all industrial applications. Unlike conventional PC units, the 5PC810.SX01-0 is designed with a housing unit that saves space and makes it easy for users to replace drives and make connections. The housing protection class of this product is classified under IP20 protection class, this indicates that the housing only offers protection against interference from large solid substances.

The 5PC810.SX01-0 contains five USB 2.0 interfaces that can transmit information at a rate of 480 Megabits per minute, it also features two Ethernet Interfaces which transmit data at about 100 Megabits per minute. There are also two Modem compatible serial interfaces integrated into the PC unit. Cooling in this device is passively handled by the heatsink, however an active fan kin is required if the device is used with additional components that are sensitive to heat.

There are four Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) present at the front of this display unit, these diodes provide information about the power, HDD, Link 1 and Link 2 status of the PC unit. A slide in compact slot and a compact Flash slot (CF1) is also present for SATA and IDE-PATA connection respectively. The 5PC810.SX01-0 features a SRAM memory with a capacity of about 512 kilobytes, this memory is battery buffered. The total weight of the PC unit is about 2.2 kilograms.
