Product Description:
The 5PC800.BM45-00 is an industrial PC module manufactured by B&R Automation for the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. The board combines the processor, chipset, graphics, and mass-storage controllers on a single platform that bolts directly into a machine cabinet and serves as the central computing layer of the control system. Its purpose is to execute PLC tasks, motion algorithms, and visualization software while offering standard PC I/O for sensors, drives, and operator panels. The integrated design places the main computing functions on one card inside the cabinet.
An Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 processor operates at 2530 MHz. This clock rate indicates how quickly the processor executes instructions. The silicon contains 2 independent processing cores, allowing concurrent program threads. A front-side bus clock of 1066 MHz links the CPU to the GM45 memory controller hub and supports steady data transfer. The shared second-level cache totals 6 MB, holding frequently reused code close to the execution units. System memory capacity can be expanded to 8 GB, which supports large HMI runtimes and historical data buffering without paging.
System RAM must use DDR3 modules, which provide higher throughput and lower power consumption than earlier DDR2 implementations. Integrated graphics are supplied by the Intel GMA 4500MDH, which can reserve up to 384 MB of shared memory and drive digital panels through two SDVO-compatible DVI ports. Analog output reaches 2048 × 1536 @ 70 Hz, aided by a 300 MHz RAMDAC for legacy CRTs. Storage peripherals connect to 4× SATA channels, permitting RAID or independent device arrangements. System initialization is handled by an embedded AMI BIOS, and the GM45 / ICH9M-E chipset manages the external PCI Express and USB buses without additional bridge chips.
