The 5PC800.B945-03 embedded controller is manufactured by B & R Automation and is part of the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. It is intended to act as a compact industrial PC for PLC logic, visualization, and data logging in automated machinery. By coupling a mobile-class processor with industrialized I/O, the platform can host real-time control tasks while maintaining continuous communication with drives, sensors, and higher-level networks.
Processing is organized around the Intel 945GME chipset that supports an Intel Celeron M 423 single-core CPU. That processor runs at 1060 MHz on one core and exchanges data with memory across a 533 MHz front-side bus. A 1 MB L2 cache helps lower memory latency. System RAM can be expanded to 3 GB of DDR2 SO-DIMM modules, and ACPI 2.0 S3 power states allow the unit to enter suspend mode during idle periods. Visual output is handled by the integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics controller, which drives two SDVO-based DVI channels at 1920 × 1080 and supports a maximum 32-bit color depth. A separate RGB interface delivers a 400 MHz pixel rate up to 2048 × 1536 at 75 Hz, and the graphics subsystem can allocate shared memory for frame buffers.
Field connectivity is provided by the Realtek RTL8111B Gigabit Ethernet controller for deterministic network traffic. For mass storage, the board exposes 2 SATA ports plus a legacy IDE channel, allowing combinations of SSDs and rotating media. That network interface supports high-speed communication with supervisory systems as well as connected machine devices. Two SDVO outputs, an RGB port, and ACPI-controlled sleep states round out the feature set, enabling the controller to integrate display panels, conserve energy between shifts, and record process data locally while maintaining network access to supervisory SCADA layers.
