Product Description:
The 5PC720.1505-K01 is a panel PC produced by B&R Automation and distributed as part of the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. Within an automated cell, the unit combines processing, visualization, and direct operator interaction, so a separate controller, display, and input panel are not required. By integrating control logic with on-machine visualization, it simplifies cabinet layouts and reduces wiring in packaging systems, material-handling stations, and other industrial environments.
The operator interface is sealed to IP65 on the front, allowing mounting on doors or arms exposed to dust or sprayed liquids. A 15 in diagonal screen offers adequate area for status graphics, alarm lists, and recipe entry without forcing scrolling between pages. Images are rendered on a TFT Color panel, which provides stable brightness and wide viewing angles compared to passive matrix displays. The native resolution is XGA, so standard 1024 × 768 pixel layouts can be shown without scaling artifacts. Interaction occurs through an Analog Resistive touch layer that registers single-finger input even when operators wear work gloves. Integrated AC97 sound is included for audible alerts or voice prompts.
Control networking and peripheral expansion are supported by dual Ethernet interfaces rated at 2 x 10/100 Mbit/s, permitting separation of real-time traffic from plant-level data without an external switch. Legacy controllers or barcode scanners can be attached through 2 x RS232 ports, while modern devices such as flash drives and service dongles connect to 3 x USB 2.0 receptacles. A dedicated PS/2 connector accepts a keyboard or mouse during setup, leaving the USB channels free for other peripherals. These interfaces support direct connection of storage devices, scanners, and networked equipment at the machine.
