Product Description:
The 5PC720.1505-00 operator terminal is produced by B & R Automation within the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. Designed as an integrated panel PC, it combines processing, display, and input functions for machine-level control and visualization on the factory floor. By embedding the computing section directly behind the screen, the unit simplifies cabinet wiring and offers a compact HMI point for PLC diagnostics, recipe handling, and status display. It mounts on enclosure doors and links to supervisory systems through its native communication ports, giving production staff a single interface for real-time operation feedback.
The front panel features a LED backlight that drives a brightness of 350 cd/m², making status graphics readable under typical shop lighting. A contrast ratio of 1000:1 supports crisp differentiation between process states, while the 15 in (381 mm) diagonal provides adequate space for multi-object layouts at a native resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels. The TFT color technology reproduces 10 million hues, and the analog-resistive touch layer recognizes finger or stylus contact even when operators wear gloves. With a half-brightness time of 70,000 h, backlight degradation is slow, extending service intervals and reducing downtime.
Environmental sealing on the front achieves IP65 / NEMA 250 4X, so dust and wash-down liquids do not impair the touchscreen. Network integration is available through 2× 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports, and an external screen can be driven from the DVI-I female connector for mirrored viewing. Three USB 2.0 sockets accept data keys or service tools, while two RS232 channels link to legacy drives or barcode readers. Power is supplied at 24 VDC ±25%, and internal consumption stays near 3.8 A during full load. The resistive touch construction tolerates repeated presses without calibration drift, making the panel suitable for continuous industrial duty.
