The 5PC600.E855-05 belongs to the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series from B&R Automation. It is an embedded computing platform. It hosts the control logic, fieldbus drivers, and user interface software required for machine-level automation tasks on factory floors and in process plants.
An Intel Celeron M processor clocks at 1000 MHz, while the system bus runs at 400 MHz; this pairing sets the data throughput between the CPU core and the Intel 82855GME/82801DB chipset. The on-die caches are split into 32 kB of L1 and a larger 512 kB L2 segment, reducing latency when instructions or data are reused. Two DDRAM sockets accept up to 1 GB of system memory, providing volatile storage for the operating system and real-time tasks. Mass storage is handled by two IDE channels that support ultra-DMA transfers up to UDMA 100, so rotating or solid-state drives can stream data without saturating the host interface.
