The 5P62:BMW-06 is a 5PC series industrial control unit from B & R Automation. It features a 15-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels and its display supports analog resistive touch input. This unit has an Intel Celeron processor running at 600 MHz and it includes 1 GB DDR SO-DIMM RAM for standard processing tasks.
The 5P62:BMW-06 panel provides dual Ethernet ports for network communication, one Ethernet port supports B & R Powerlink real-time protocol and the second port is used for standard TCP/IP connections. It has two RS-232 serial ports for legacy device communications and three USB 2.0 ports for high-speed external device connections. The panel’s DVI-I port enables video output for additional display use and it includes PS/2 ports for keyboard/mouse input, while audio functions are supported with microphone and line-out jacks. Its storage options include CompactFlash or a 2.5-inch hard disk drive and it uses Automation Studio firmware for programming. This 5P62 panel supports Windows XP, Windows CE and MS-DOS. It uses passive cooling with a rear-mounted heat sink and gets powered by a 24 V DC input with 18–30 V tolerance. The panel comes housed in a metal chassis with an IP65 front and its rear side is rated IP20.
The 5P62:BMW-06 panel provides panel-mounting configuration with rear clamps for secure installation and its front dimensions are 435 mm x 330 mm while its depth ranges up to 146 mm. It supports operating temperature from 0°C to +50°C and storage temperature from -20°C to +60°C. Its vibration and shock resistance meet industrial equipment requirements. The 5P62 panel’s communication options also include CAN bus and X2X Link, while additional protocols like PROFINET and EtherCAT require expansion modules.
