The 5P62:0TBDEPX-01 is an industrial PC-based controller produced by B & R Automation for the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. It serves as the primary computational platform within machinery, combining deterministic control, data collection, and visualization in a single compact frame. Through integrated networking and standard expansion options, the unit links motion drives, safety I/O, and supervisory systems, allowing equipment builders to deploy a scalable automation architecture in harsh shop-floor environments.
The hardware resources support electrical integration and field connectivity. Logic electronics are powered by a 24 V DC supply, while a passive heat sink disperses waste heat; a clip-on fan can be fitted when greater airflow is required. Network traffic is handled by two RJ45 10/100 ports, each supporting link speeds up to 100 Mbit/s. Startup code is loaded by a BIOS bootloader stored in onboard flash memory. One PCI slot and a separate single-position add-on interface allow fieldbus, encoder, or motion cards to be inserted without enlarging the controller’s footprint. Two USB 2.0 Type-A connectors are available, and the controller includes two RS-232 ports for legacy serial devices.
An internal capacitor bank bridges power interruptions lasting up to 10 ms, helping the controller tolerate brief supply disturbances. Real-time clock data are preserved by a removable Renata 950 mAh lithium battery. Display panels connect through a DVI-I port, while keyboards and mice share a combined PS/2 connector. Audio functions follow the AC97 standard and include microphone, line-in, and line-out terminals. Removable storage is supported through one Type I CompactFlash slot. Each existing USB socket can provide up to 500 mA per port to power devices such as scanners or memory sticks.
