The 5P5000V1113 human-machine interface is produced by B&R Automation within the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. It is intended to mount on control cabinets and give operators direct access to machine parameters through its integrated touchscreen and function keys, serving as a front end for PLC-based motion, process, and safety systems on the factory floor. Through its touchscreen and function keys, users can review status pages, acknowledge alarms, and enter operating values without opening the cabinet door. Its cabinet-mounted format keeps the display accessible at the machine while the control hardware remains protected inside the enclosure.
The panel displays data on a 15 in (381 mm) TFT color screen that renders at 1024 × 768 px and supports 262,144 colors. This combination gives clear presentation of process graphics, text, and alarm messages on one viewing area. An analog resistive touch layer permits finger or stylus input while preserving the front seal. Luminance reaches 200 cd/m², and the LED backlight is rated for 50,000 h. The bezel achieves IP65 protection, blocking dust and water jets, while the rear housing is IP20 for cabinet installation. During transport, the device withstands -20 to +60 °C, and the touch sensor still responds when users wear thin work gloves.
From a power perspective, the terminal can be fed directly from plant mains at 100–240 VAC or from a control-cabinet source at 24 VDC. That flexibility is useful when one machine section uses low-voltage control power and another is tied to standard plant AC service. This dual-input arrangement also supports updates to existing panels where the available supply is already fixed by the machine layout. Once installed, the electronics maintain full performance between 0 to 50 °C, which suits the thermal conditions found in many enclosed cabinets. Within that operating range, the touchscreen, graphics functions, and communication interfaces remain stable during normal production starts, operator adjustments, and planned shutdown periods.
