By combining embedded computing with expansion slots, the device streamlines cabinet layouts and reduces wiring in automated packaging lines, material-handling cells, and assembly equipment.
The housing carries a protection rating of IP20, so it must be installed inside a cabinet yet still resists incidental contact with energized parts. Rated operation up to 3,000 m above sea level means altitude-induced cooling derate is not required for most facilities. A Vertical mounting orientation is mandatory, ensuring convection airflow over the main board and expansion cards. The integrated PCI backplane runs at a bus frequency of 33 MHz, which matches legacy motion and communication cards that depend on this clock. Add-on cards are powered from a regulated backplane voltage of 5 V, so designers can reuse standard 5 V PCI modules without level shifting.
