Product Description:
The 5E9000.18 is one of the available optional accessories that can be purchased separately for B&R Automation’s electrical modules and panels. Specifically, this device functions as a keyboard plate module, offering various types of switches and control keys. Alongside a compatible display module and a panel controller, this keyboard plate module can be used to monitor and control industrial machines or processes. Depending on the panel controller used, this compact module may be controlled indirectly by the PLC through a set of command sequences sent to the controller. Like other modules manufactured by B&R Automation, this electrical device operates best at an ambient temperature of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius.
In total, the 5E9000.18 incorporates thirty function keys, most of which are programmable. It also provides two rotary switches for address selection. To power this keyboard plate module, a 24 V DC supply that employs a three-pin power connector must be used. To establish seamless communication with the panel controller, this device uses CAN protocol. Like other electrical modules utilizing CAN protocol, the 5E9000.18 employs a 9-pin DSUB connection port. To prevent damaging this keyboard plate module, the device must be installed in a location with minimal exposure to shock and continuous vibration.
As mentioned earlier, the 5E9000.18 employs two rotary switches. Depending on the combination of these rotary switches, the baud rate of the keyboard plate module in kbps may vary. For instance, when SW1 is set to 0 and SW2 is set arbitrarily, the baud rate is 250 kbps. On the other hand, when SW1 is set to 4 and SW2 is set arbitrarily, the baud rate decreases to 125 kbps. Wake Industrial provides a one-year warranty for this module upon completing the purchase procedure.
