The 5DLSD3.1001-00 link module from the 5DL series manufactured by B & R Automation is designed to extend communication between an automation module and industrial PC using a single cable. It also has the capability to transfer data or information from touch screen, LEDs, matrix keys, and relevant diagnostic / service data for distances up to 100 m. USB 2.0 compatability and data transfer is also possible which is quite remarkable as it requires no external modules. It requires a SDL3 receiver in the automation panel and a SDL3 interface in the industrial PC to be able to work satisfactorily.
The5DLSD3.1001-00 link module is compatible with automation panel 923 / 933 / 1000 models and for automation panel 5000. It contains LEDs to signify link status and has been passed through CE, UKCA, UL, HazLoc certifications which makes it an industry recommended product. It comes with two USB interfaces that are type A and offer a transfer speed from 1.5 Mbit/sec to 30 Mbit/sec. The unit has a 1 A current carrying capacity and works with a nominal supply voltage of 24 V DC with a maximum current of 3 A and an overvoltage category of class II as per EN 61131-2 standard. The unit offers Galvanic isolation and exhibits a pollution degree 2 as per EN61131-2.
