Product Description:
The 5DLSD3.1001-00 AP link module is produced by B&R Automation for the 5DL AP Link Modules series. It functions as a compact communication node that couples SDL3 field devices to a 24 VDC supply and to service interfaces such as USB, allowing controllers to monitor and power remote sensors, actuators, and safety equipment. By combining power distribution and network access in one housing, the unit reduces cabinet wiring and provides a consistent connection point for service access. Its compact format makes it suitable for installations where available rail space is limited but reliable field connectivity is still required.
The housing measures 23.6 mm deep, 110 mm high, and 190 mm wide, so it fits into shallow DIN-rail rows while still leaving space for cabling. A mass of 527 g adds stability on the rail without placing excessive load on light enclosures. The power section uses a SELV supply of 24 VDC, and the logic accepts an input range of 24 VDC ±25%, which helps the module remain operational during supply variation. Galvanic isolation separates field power from the internal electronics, and the assembly is rated for overvoltage category II for use in circuits downstream of building wiring. A shielded RJ45 socket carries the SDL3 infeed, which helps reduce EMC interference on high-speed safety traffic.
Field loads can draw up to 3 A through the integrated power rail, allowing several low-power devices to share one segment. The USB section includes 2 ports built to the USB 2.0 standard, and each port is current-limited to 1 A to protect the board during peripheral use. Because the module includes galvanic isolation and a shielded network connector, sensitive I/O lines are better protected from ground loops and conducted noise. These features support stable communication while also providing convenient access for removable storage or wireless adapters.
