The 5DL5DL.1000-00 from B & R Automation's 5DL AP Link Modules range includes a 1,000 mm-long cable composed of PVC. It has two layers of protection and can take up to 300 volts. The cable operates in temperatures from -20° C to +80° C. The 5DL5DL.1000-00 module from B&R Automation is an SDL transceiver that connects data channels to power feeds between many Automation Panels. To maintain the signal line active from the master rack to any add-ons, there are two separate connectors: SDL IN and SDL OUT. The hardware lets set up a stepped, daisy-chain arrangement by routing both information and DC supply in a loop.

This makes cabling easier and lets monitor everything from one place. So, control room operators just see one logical node instead of a bunch of separate connections. The specifications say that the product can handle 24 VDC and changes of around ±25%. That range works for the voltage changes that happen on busy manufacturing floors, but it doesn't let hazardous over-voltage get to delicate interior circuits. The module is built such that it may be installed quickly and without making any mistakes. Two locating screws hold the unit in place on the panel with 0.5 Nm of force. This setting holds it securely without putting stress on the housing. That extra space maintains the assembly working well throughout years of thermal and vibrational cycling, which is typical in industrial build-outs.
