The 5APC2100.BY01 industrial PC is manufactured by B & R Automation within the 5APC Industrial PC Units series. It is designed to mount in a control cabinet and to run automation software that supervises motion axes, process sequences, and operator interfaces. By combining processor logic, memory, and standard Ethernet interfaces in a single enclosure, the unit replaces larger rack computers and simplifies wiring in industrial automation cells.
Processing tasks are handled by a single-core Intel Atom E3815 that runs at 1460 MHz, and this frequency sets the maximum instruction throughput for real-time cyclic programs. The board carries 1 GB of DDR3L-1067 memory, giving adequate data buffering without exceeding the thermal envelope of the compact housing, and the technology is implemented as DDR3 SDRAM for chipset compatibility. Two RJ45 connectors expose Gigabit Ethernet, and the link rate of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s lets the controller handle field data and network traffic over a single cable segment. An integrated Intel HD Graphics engine drives local panels without an add-on card, while one USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port support service upload or removable logging devices.
