Product Description:
The 5APP1120.101E-000 operator panel is produced by B&R Automation within the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. As a compact human-machine interface, it provides visualization and single-touch input for PLC-controlled equipment, allowing operators to start, stop, and monitor automated sequences directly on the machine. The panel combines an industrial TFT display with a resistive touch layer, allowing installation on enclosures or support arm systems for convenient access to machine controls. Its compact format makes it suitable for production equipment where installation space is limited but clear process visualization remains necessary.
Its widescreen aspect ratio of 16:10 pairs with a diagonal size of 10.1 in, providing enough display area for detailed process diagrams and control elements. The native resolution is 1280 × 800, so graphics created at that resolution appear without scaling artifacts. Illumination is supplied by an LED backlight designed for a service life of 50,000 hours. The panel reproduces up to 16.7 million colors, allowing clear differentiation among status indicators, alarms, controls, and process values. The aluminum front bezel and gasket provide IP65 protection, permitting washdown cleaning while shielding the front of the panel from dust and water jets. These display features help maintain readable graphics under the varied lighting conditions commonly found around industrial machinery.
The rear of the housing provides IP20 protection, so it must be installed in a suitable cabinet or enclosure to protect the terminal area from dust and moisture. User input is processed through a resistive sensor controlled by a serial 12-bit converter, enabling a coordinate resolution of 4096 × 4096 for accurate button selection, including operation while wearing gloves. The coated aluminum frame measures 279 mm wide and 191 mm high, providing a compact mounting footprint for industrial control stations. The panel has a mass of 1900 g, which reduces the load placed on enclosure doors and support arm assemblies. Its analog resistive touch technology does not depend on the electrical characteristics of a bare finger, making the interface practical for controlled production environments. This input method also remains functional near variable-frequency drives and other industrial equipment that can generate electromagnetic interference.
