By integrating the display, touch sensor, and keys in one housing, the panel reduces wiring and helps simplify enclosure layouts in industrial automation systems. This layout keeps the interface compact while allowing both touch-driven navigation and fixed-key control for repetitive tasks.
The display measures 15 in (381 mm) on the diagonal, providing an XGA workspace of 1024 × 768 pixels for detailed graphics and trend plots. A luminance of 350 cd/m² keeps the screen legible in brightly lit industrial areas, while the contrast ratio of 1000:1 helps distinguish subtle shades in alarm icons and process images. Color depth reaches 16.7 million, letting the TFT panel reproduce complex palettes used by SCADA software. Twenty dedicated function keys accelerate access to frequently used screens, and twelve soft keys line the bezel so context-sensitive actions can change with each menu. Three USB 2.0 ports on the rear bezel accept USB drives, barcode readers, or recipe backups without extra interface modules.
