It combines display and touch functions in one panel-mounted unit, which helps keep routine machine interaction centered at the front of the enclosure.
The screen spans 21.5 in, giving ample area for multi-window SCADA layouts. Its imaging layer is a TFT color module that supports 16.7 million colors, allowing clear differentiation of trends, alarms, and graphic symbols. An edge-mounted LED backlight provides uniform luminance while reducing power draw and thermal load compared with fluorescent sources. User input is gathered through an analog resistive touch surface, a technology that registers commands even when an operator wears thin work gloves. Position data from the sensor are digitized by a 12-bit serial touch controller, yielding 4,096 coordinate steps per axis for accurate object selection on crowded screens.
