Product Description:
The 5AP923.1505-K01 operator terminal is manufactured by B&R Automation for the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. It is a TFT color interface intended for machine visualization and parameter entry in industrial automation systems. By combining an analog resistive touchscreen with an XGA graphics engine, the panel replaces conventional button stations and supports real-time interaction with PLCs and motion controllers. That arrangement allows operators to navigate screens, adjust parameters, and acknowledge faults from a single front-panel interface.
The panel uses an LED backlight rated for 50,000 h, so scheduled maintenance can align with long production cycles. Typical luminance ranges from 20 to 400 cd/m², allowing adaptation to dark enclosures or brightly lit assembly areas, while a 700:1 contrast ratio helps maintain legibility of trend lines, status fields, and alarm messages. A 16.7 million-color TFT layer presents graphics at a native resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels, and this XGA format resolves small icons without noticeable aliasing across the 15.0" diagonal. The resistive single-touch sensor translates finger or stylus pressure into analog coordinates, so input remains available when gloves are worn. The design omits mechanical buttons and instead uses a flat touch surface that is easier to clean.
The front of the panel is sealed to IP65, helping block dust and water jets during washdown procedures. Optical clarity is supported by a touch transmittance of 81% ±3%, and screen data remains discernible from off-axis positions with viewing angles of 80°/80° and 70°/70°. Installation requires a control cabinet cutout of 370 × 288 mm, and the 3700 g mass can be supported by standard sheet-metal clamps without adding a separate external frame. Internally, a graphics controller drives the LED backlight and manages data on the RGB bus, leaving only a fieldbus connection for integration with the automation network.
