Product Description:
The 5AP920.1906-K12 panel is an industrial HMI that B & R Automation supplies within its 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. Designed for machine builders, the unit combines display, touch sensing, and communication hardware so operators can issue commands, acknowledge alarms, and view process trends directly on the production floor. Its single-touch architecture simplifies programming in automation environments where discrete pushbuttons are being replaced by configurable onscreen widgets. Because the controller logic resides in the host PLC, the panel focuses on visualization duties and retains a slim profile for shallow cabinet doors.
Its 19 in TFT color display renders graphics at 1280 × 1024 pixels, supplying crisp detail for trend charts and diagnostics. A luminance of 300 cd/m² maintains readability under overhead lighting, and the 1000:1 contrast ratio keeps foreground symbols distinct from background hues. With support for 16.7 million colors, the panel can match standard SCADA palettes without dithering. An LED backlight provides the illumination source while lowering energy demand. Input is captured through an analog resistive screen driven by an Elo serial 12-bit controller, allowing operation with gloves or styluses. Three USB 2.0 Type A receptacles on the bezel furnish 500 mA per port so service peripherals can be powered without an external hub.
Electrical integration is straightforward: the electronics operate from a 24 VDC supply at a nominal draw of 3.2 A, enabling direct connection to control cabinet power buses. The front bezel carries a rating of IP65, so airborne dust and water jets encountered during wash-down will not compromise functionality. Backlight longevity is specified at 50,000 h before brightness falls to half, aligning replacement cycles with typical preventive maintenance intervals. The housing measures 527 × 421 × 62 mm, giving installers a consistent cutout size across multiple machine models while keeping clearance requirements modest.
