Product Description:
The 5AP920.1906 single-touch automation panel is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. Designed for operator interface duties in machine control systems, it combines an LCD, a resistive touch layer, and onboard USB expansion to present process data and accept user commands. Its housing permits front mounting on electrical enclosures, while the internal electronics interface with PLCs through a 24-volt supply. In continuous operation, the 5AP920.1906 functions as a compact human-machine interface for discrete or motion-centric equipment.
The TFT display reaches a brightness of 300 cd/m², allowing clear visibility under factory lighting. Its display measures 19 in. (482 mm) on the diagonal, giving operators room for complex visualization without increasing enclosure cutout height. Image detail is delivered at 1280 × 1024 pixels, so small status icons remain legible from typical panel distances. A contrast ratio of 1000:1 reduces washout when dark graphics stand beside illuminated indicator fields. For washdown or dust-laden zones, the aluminum front is sealed to IP65, preventing the ingress of fluids and airborne particles when the unit is properly gasketed against the cabinet door.
Electronics are powered from 24 VDC ±25%, letting the panel share the same low-voltage bus as sensors and control relays. Under maximum backlight and touch activity, the current draw is 3.2 A, so power supply sizing must include startup surges. Three rear ports provide USB 2.0 Type A interfaces, each limited to 500 mA to protect upstream wiring. The touch layer uses analog resistive technology, enabling operation with gloved fingers and reducing false triggers from coolant spray. Galvanic isolation between logic and chassis protects downstream devices, while the 527 mm × 421 mm face and 62 mm depth simplify shallow door installation.
