The 5AP920.1505-KC3 is an operator interface panel built by B&R Automation and assigned to the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. This HMI unit presents process data to machine operators and accepts commands through a resistive touch surface, allowing direct control of drives, sensors, and safety routines in industrial automation cells. Its integrated display, sealed front bezel, and panel-mount design position it on cabinet doors or machine frames where quick local interaction is required. The panel is well suited for applications that need a fixed local interface for status viewing, alarm handling, and routine machine input.
Visual performance comes from a TFT color panel that measures 15 in (381 mm) on the diagonal and renders graphics at 1024 × 768 pixels. A luminance of 350 cd/m² supports visibility under factory lighting, while the 1000:1 contrast ratio preserves legibility of detailed status icons. An LED backlight lowers power draw and extends service life compared with CCFL designs. The analog, resistive touch layer allows use with gloved hands, and it is scanned by an Elo serial 12-bit controller for precise point acquisition. The display can support control pages, trend views, and message screens without requiring a separate keyboard or pointing device.
The aluminum front bezel carries a IP65 rating, blocking dust and low-pressure water so the unit can be flush-mounted on enclosures in washdown areas. Electronics are supplied from a 24 VDC ±25% source and draw up to 3.2 A, while internal fusing protects the circuit and each rear USB receptacle is limited to 500 mA. With 3 × USB 2.0 ports available, service laptops, memory sticks, and barcode readers connect without hubs. The enclosure dimensions allow installation into standardized machine panel cutouts while still leaving room for cable routing behind the mounting surface. This layout helps the unit fit tightly packed control stations where rear clearance and access to peripheral connections both matter.
