Product Description:
B & R Automation builds the 5AP920.1505-K28 operator panel within its 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. The unit is a human-machine interface intended to present process data and accept operator commands on production equipment, packaging lines, or machine tools. By combining a sealed display with an integrated touch layer, the panel replaces mechanical push buttons and makes parameter entry, alarm acknowledgment, and recipe selection available through a single front surface.
The visualization hardware centers on a TFT color display that measures 15 in diagonally and renders graphics at 1024 x 768 pixels. A palette of 16.7 million colors and a brightness of 350 cd/m² keeps on-screen elements legible in control cabinets with varied ambient lighting, while the 1000:1 contrast ratio provides clear separation between black and white levels for trend lines and text. Front-mounted sealing achieves IP65 protection, so dust and water jets cannot reach the electronics when the bezel is properly gasketed to the enclosure door. The screen accepts input through an analog resistive touch layer managed by an Elo Serial 12-bit controller, permitting finger or gloved operation without requiring recalibration during temperature swings.
Control electronics inside the panel draw 24 VDC at a maximum of 3.2 A, allowing the device to be powered directly from standard machine-control 24-volt buses. The energy budget covers an integrated LED backlight that supports long service intervals without lamp replacements. For data exchange and expansion, a Panel Link slot is present, enabling high-speed graphics transfer from compatible B & R PC units over a single cable. Three Type A USB receptacles comply with the USB 2.0 protocol and supply up to 500 mA per port for keyboards, scanners, or memory sticks used to load recipes or log production results. The front USB cover maintains the IP65 seal when external devices are not connected, and all communication and power conductors exit at the rear to keep touch operation unobstructed.
