The 5AP920.1505-K16/PL3 from B & R Automation belongs to the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. It functions as an operator interface that combines a color LCD with a single-finger resistive touch layer, allowing machine status to be viewed and commands to be issued directly on factory equipment. This arrangement lets operators work with process screens, alarm pages, and control menus from the panel itself without needing a separate pointing device. The panel is intended for direct use on industrial equipment where visual feedback and touch input must be combined in one enclosure.
The screen measures 15 in (381 mm) and renders images at 1024 x 768 pixels, so graphical controls remain legible even when densely packed. Illumination is supplied by an LED backlight that reaches 350 cd/m², which supports viewing under normal shop-floor lighting. Contrast is rated at 1000:1, and the panel reproduces 16.7 million colors on its Color TFT module. The display assembly uses the AUO G150XG01 V1 LCD and is mounted within a housing sized 435 x 330 x 54 mm. An anodized front bezel with IP65 protection seals the touch surface against dust and directed water jets. The touch surface also registers pressure from gloved fingers or stylus tips, which is useful where capacitive touch can be unreliable.
Electrical service is drawn from a 24 VDC control supply, and three USB 2.0 ports are available for keyboards, service sticks, or barcode readers. Automation Panel Link is provided as an expansion slot, so the HMI can be separated from the host PC over a single cable. This layout allows the display to remain at the machine while the connected computer can be placed in a more protected location. Total mass is 5100 g, which supports arm-mounted or cabinet-door installation without excessive reinforcement.
