Product Description:
The 5AP920.1505-K11 is a 15-inch operator interface from B & R Automation built for the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. This panel combines display, touch input, and control wiring into a single front-mounted unit for machine-level HMI tasks. By integrating an analog resistive touchscreen with an LED-backlit TFT, it allows operators to issue commands, monitor process variables, and acknowledge alarms without separate keyboards or pointing devices. In automated production lines, the 5AP920.1505-K11 serves as the primary human-machine gateway between PLC hardware and field equipment, making it suitable for local control stations where screen access must remain simple and direct.
The aluminum front bezel carries IP65 protection, so sprayed water or dust on the cabinet face does not penetrate the electronics. Visual performance is supported by a luminance of 350 cd/m², letting the display remain legible under factory lighting. Image clarity is supported by a native resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels, which matches the 4:3 aspect ratio of the panel’s 15 in active area. Color depth reaches 16.7 million shades, enabling precise rendition of process graphics, status indicators, and alarm palettes. This screen format suits HMI pages that combine text, icons, trend windows, and operating buttons on the same display.
Long-term service life is supported by a backlight half-brightness expectancy of 70,000 h, which helps extend usable display time in continuous-duty equipment. Internal consumption remains moderate; at a peak draw of 3.2 A from the 24 VDC control supply, the panel can be powered directly from standard machine power buses without separate converters. Three downstream USB 2.0 connectors, counted as 3 ports, simplify attachment of memory keys, barcode scanners, or temporary input devices during setup and file transfer. This arrangement supports common peripheral connections while keeping the panel compatible with compact cabinet layouts and standard low-voltage control systems.
