The 5AP920.1505-K08 human-machine interface panel is produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. Designed for machine-level visualization, the unit integrates a display and a single-touch sensor so users can adjust parameters, acknowledge alarms, and start cycles without an external computer. Its electronics, screen, and input layer are packaged in a hardened front frame suited to installation on cabinet doors or articulated arms in automated production environments.
The panel presents a TFT color display that uses an LED backlight, delivering 350 cd/m² of luminance for visibility under factory lighting. Image definition is supported by a 1000:1 contrast ratio and an XGA pixel map of 1024 × 768 (XGA), spread across a 15 in diagonal so graphics and trend curves remain legible at arm’s length. The controller can render 16.7 million colors without dithering, allowing clear differentiation of process states. Input is captured through an analog resistive touch layer managed by an Elo serial 12-bit controller, which returns absolute coordinates to the host CPU over a protected channel. No plug-in expansion card is supplied, keeping the housing profile unchanged and simplifying mounting in shallow enclosures.
Thermal management is fanless, eliminating moving parts that collect dust and lowering maintenance demands. The aluminum front complies with IP65 protection, so jets of water or airborne particles do not reach the internal electronics. Control connections are galvanically isolated to help prevent ground loops between field devices and higher-level networks. The panel is powered from a single 24 VDC supply, easing integration with common cabinet power rails. Two embedded USB hosts provide 2 USB ports for a keyboard, barcode reader, or memory stick attachment during setup and routine data transfer.
