The 5AP920.1505-K06 is a single-touch operator interface panel built by B & R Automation and assigned to the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. This unit combines a touchscreen, display, and USB expansion into a slim front-mount package intended as a human-machine interface for PLC-based production lines. By consolidating visualization and input on one sealed front surface, the panel simplifies cabinet layouts and reduces wiring when integrating recipe handling, alarm acknowledgment, and machine control.
For graphical output, the TFT module measures 15 in (381 mm) on the diagonal and renders imagery at 1024 × 768 pixels (XGA). Color depth reaches 16.7 million colors, allowing precise differentiation of status icons and trend graphs. The aluminum front carries a rating of IP65, so the screen, the analog-resistive sensor, and the USB ports are protected from dust and low-pressure water jets when panel-mounted. Power consumption reaches a maximum draw of 3.2 A from a SELV supply of 24 VDC ±25%, and this range accommodates most industrial control power supplies without additional conditioning. Galvanic isolation on the inputs separates the internal electronics from field wiring to limit ground loops.
The touch surface uses Analog resistive sensing managed by an Elo serial 12-bit controller, and the sensor stack is identified by the AMT type code. For data exchange, a rear hub exposes three host ports that comply with USB 2.0; each receptacle is a Type A connector that can source up to 500 mA per port to power thumb drives or barcode readers. Transfer rates over the bus peak at 480 Mbit/s, allowing rapid file transfers and recipe uploads. Rear port placement helps keep peripheral cabling inside the enclosure.
