Product Description:
B&R Automation's 5AP920.1214-01 is part of the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. This panel serves as a human-machine interface for automated lines, presenting status data on its integrated screen while accepting commands through a resistive touch layer. The design supports a compact operator station that mounts in a cabinet door or swing arm without auxiliary cooling. Its sealed front and integrated display make it suitable for production areas where space is limited and direct local control is required.
The TFT display uses LED backlighting to reach a luminance of 450 cd/m², and image clarity is supported by a contrast ratio of 800:1. With a diagonal of 12.1 in (307 mm), the screen provides enough viewing area for process graphics, and the analog resistive sensor registers a single finger or gloved press. The aluminum front meets IP65, so sprayed water and airborne dust do not enter the enclosure. Power is supplied from a control cabinet at 24 VDC, and the panel draws up to 3.2 A at full brightness. Galvanic isolation separates the supply from internal circuits to reduce conducted noise, and the housing measures 362 mm in width, 284 mm in height, and 54 mm in depth.
Long-term readability is supported by a half-brightness life of 50,000 h, which helps preserve display visibility over extended operating periods. The active area renders graphics at 800 × 600 pixels, matching many established HMI layouts while keeping visual elements easy to read. Three rear connectors provide host access through USB 2.0, allowing a keyboard, memory stick, or barcode reader to be connected without external hubs. The 3-port USB arrangement sits beside a service access slot, and the panel layout supports straightforward integration into standard cutouts.
