The 5AP920.1043-K09 operator panel is built by B&R Automation as part of the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. Intended for machine-front installation in packaging, conveying, and process equipment, the unit replaces discrete pushbuttons and lamps with a graphical touch interface. By combining control input, status visualization, and alarm acknowledgment in a single enclosure, it simplifies wiring and reduces setup time in distributed industrial automation architectures. That layout can also reduce panel clutter by bringing routine machine interaction together on one screen.
The display uses the VGA signal standard, so the integrated controller can render legacy PLC graphics without additional scaling hardware. A diagonal size of 10.4 in balances readability with compact panel space, while the native matrix of 640 x 480 pixels sets the pixel density that determines text clarity and icon detail. Internal electronics are powered from a regulated 24 VDC control supply, permitting the panel to share the same low-voltage rail as sensors and I/O modules. Visual elements are presented on a TFT Color panel, providing high contrast and wide viewing angles compared with passive-matrix alternatives, which is important when users must read data quickly from different positions.
The aluminum front frame meets IP65, blocking dust ingress and protecting the touch surface from low-pressure water jets encountered during wipe-down procedures.
