This human-machine interface combines a color display, resistive touch input, and dedicated function keys so maintenance staff and line operators can issue commands, confirm alarms, and track process values near the equipment. By connecting over the SDL link to the central controller, the panel serves as a decentralized visualization node in distributed industrial automation architectures.

The visualization section uses a 15 in (381 mm) TFT with a native resolution of 1024 × 768 px, allowing crisp rendering of process graphics and alarm lists. An LED backlight outputs 350 cd/m² of luminance and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, giving readable images under bright factory lighting. Color depth reaches 10 million colors, so status icons and trending charts remain clear when anti-aliased. Inputs are captured through an analog, resistive touch surface managed by an Elo serial 12-bit controller, which detects positional changes even when operators wear gloves.
