Product Description:
The 5AP5230.215I-000 is a human-machine interface panel produced by B&R Automation for its 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. This unit combines a widescreen TFT display with a single-touch, projected-capacitive surface to give operators direct control of process variables and diagnostic data. Installed in control cabinets or machine fronts, the panel acts as the visual gateway between PLC logic and the operator, presenting graphics, alarms, and recipes while collecting user input for real-time adjustments in industrial automation cells.
Its native resolution of 1920 × 1080 px provides full-HD pixel density across the 21.5 in diagonal, allowing complex mimic diagrams and fine trend lines to appear without aliasing. The widescreen canvas follows a 16:9 aspect ratio, matching contemporary SCADA layouts and reducing the need for scroll bars. Image clarity is further supported by a high static contrast of 5000:1, so dark backgrounds and bright status indicators remain distinguishable under factory lighting. The Projected Capacitive (PCT) touch layer senses input through a laminated glass surface, enabling gesture commands while tolerating thin gloves. In portrait orientation, the panel can mount on narrow operator stations, and its LED backlight supplies uniform edge illumination for the TFT color display.
The panel displays 16.7 million colors, permitting gradient-rich dashboards and camera images to appear without banding. After 50,000 h, the backlight falls to half brightness, supporting extended service intervals in 24/7 plants. Despite its 632 mm height and 352 mm width, the panel weighs only 9600 g, simplifying swing-arm mounting and panel door installation. Operators can view content clearly from steep positions thanks to a horizontal viewing angle of 89°/89° and a matching vertical field, which helps prevent contrast loss when the station is approached from the side or above.
