Product Description:
The 5AP1180.1505-000 is a human-machine interface panel produced by B&R Automation within the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. The unit combines a TFT display with single-touch input to give machine operators direct access to control commands and status data. Its role in an automation cell is to provide a durable interface that connects programmable logic sequences with operating personnel, streamlining parameter entry, alarm acknowledgment, and diagnostics. The panel mounts on a cabinet door, exposing only the sealed front while field wiring connects at the rear. This arrangement keeps the display and controls accessible without exposing the internal connections.
The screen measures 15.0 inches diagonally, giving operators ample workspace for process graphics, and it has a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels, so vector objects and small text remain sharp. A contrast ratio of 700:1 improves readability in typical plant lighting, while LED backlighting maintains uniform brightness throughout its service life. Viewing remains stable up to 80° to the left or right and 70° upward or downward, allowing data to be read from off-axis positions. Input is registered through an analog resistive touch layer that accepts gloved interaction. The interface also includes 32 programmable membrane keys for frequently used commands. The glass and bezel provide IP65 front protection, preventing dust and water from entering through the front of the panel in washdown or dusty environments.
The face measures 435 mm in width and 330 mm in height, allowing it to fit compatible control-cabinet cutouts. The total mass is 4,900 g, so a typical sheet-metal door can support the panel without reinforcement. A single Type A USB interface supports data transfer, backup media, and service keyboards. The port follows the USB 2.0 standard and can supply up to 500 mA to an attached peripheral. Device detection is handled by the upstream electronics when equipment is connected to the port. Rear access keeps the peripheral connection separate from the sealed operator-facing surface.
