The 5AP1180.1043-000 single-touch automation panel is produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. This human-machine interface provides command and visualization capabilities for machinery and production lines. Its integrated display, tactile keys, and resistive touch layer support real-time interaction with PLCs and motion controllers. Operators can enter parameters, acknowledge alarms, monitor operating conditions, and issue machine commands from the panel.
The unit mounts through a 323 mm-wide cutout and measures 260 mm in height, allowing access to the controls without requiring excessive panel space. Its front face is sealed to IP65, preventing dust and low-pressure water jets from reaching the touchscreen. The rear side is rated IP20 for installation inside a protected cabinet. Graphics appear on a 10.4 in TFT display with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The screen reproduces 16.7 million colors, allowing detailed icons, status indicators, and trend curves to remain clear during operation. A serial 12-bit touch controller interprets input from the analog resistive layer, enabling accurate use with gloved fingers or a stylus.
Process information remains legible because the display has a 900:1 contrast ratio, providing a clear luminance difference between light and dark image regions. The membrane keypad includes 22 programmable function keys for direct machine commands, supplementing the touch layer when touchscreen interaction is inconvenient. Data backups and file transfers are supported through a USB 2.0 Type A host interface, which can also power compatible low-current devices such as flash drives. The metal chassis provides a rigid housing for industrial installations. The panel weighs 2800 g, reducing the mechanical load when it is mounted on an articulated arm or swing frame.
