B&R Automation manufactures the 5AP1130.121E-010 operator terminal for the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. The device functions as a human-machine interface, displaying process data and capturing touch input so controllers and machine operators can exchange commands in real time. It is intended for installation on machine fronts or cabinet doors where a protected screen and responsive interface are required. Its panel format provides direct access to process controls without requiring a separate keyboard or pointing device.
The display area measures 12.1 inches, providing adequate space for complex SCADA graphics without requiring excessively large cabinet cutouts. A native resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels supports finely drawn objects and permits small text to remain legible at typical viewing distances. Color rendering includes 16.7 million colors and a contrast ratio of 1000:1, producing distinct gradients and clear separation between foreground and background elements when alarms rely on color changes. The LED backlight provides even luminance while limiting power consumption and thermal load. The TFT color panel maintains image stability during rapid screen updates. Its sunlight-readable design helps operators view diagnostics on brightly lit factory floors or near loading bays.
The front has an IP65 rating, allowing washdown with low-pressure water jets while preventing dust from reaching the capacitive sensor. The backlight reaches half of its initial brightness after 70,000 hours, supporting extended operation across multiple daily shifts. The touch layer uses projected capacitive technology, providing gesture support and allowing operation through thin gloves. Horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 89 degrees in each direction minimize contrast loss when the panel is mounted above or below eye level. The housing measures only 221.5 mm in height and 324 mm in width, which supports installation where panel space is limited. The front glass is air-bonded to the display, while the serviceable design allows either layer to be replaced without exchanging the complete module.
