By combining a color display with single-touch input, the panel serves as a local terminal in distributed industrial automation systems. The visualization area measures 7.0 in diagonally and uses a TFT module with a native resolution of 800 × 480 pixels, allowing icons, process values, and trend graphs to be displayed clearly. Graphics are shown in up to 16.7 million colors, so status elements can be differentiated without dithering. User interaction is registered through a projected capacitive touch sensor, which detects input through the front glass even when thin gloves are worn.
