Product Description:
The 5AP1120.1505-C06 operator interface is a human-machine panel produced by B&R Automation for the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. It serves as the visual and input node in automated equipment, delivering process data to personnel and forwarding touch commands to PLCs without requiring additional keyboards or pushbuttons. A thin-film transistor screen and a resistive touch layer are laminated into a single front plate to conserve cabinet space and simplify the use of washdown covers on production lines.
The screen measures 15.0 in diagonally, giving operators a workspace large enough for multilayered process graphics. Its resolution is 1024 × 768 pixels, so trend charts and alarm dialogs remain legible at standard viewing distances. Image depth is supported by a contrast ratio of 700:1, which helps distinguish colored elements against dark backgrounds in factory lighting. The viewing angle reaches 80° horizontally and 70° vertically, allowing personnel to read the screen while moving past the machine. The aluminum housing spans 435 mm in width and 330 mm in height, dimensions that align with common 19-inch panel cutouts and leave a narrow bezel for gasketing.
An anodized bezel with a front rating of IP65 resists sprayed water and airborne dust, while the rear section carries an IP20 rating suitable for protected enclosures. The resistive layer accepts input through gloves because its analog, pressure-based touch technology does not require direct skin contact. Position data are digitized by a serial 12-bit controller for transfer to the automation computer. A downstream connector provides power and data to one USB port that follows the USB 2.0 standard, supplies up to 500 mA, and supports memory devices used for recipe transfers. The panel has a total mass of 5,000 g, allowing installation on suitable swing arms while providing enough weight to help damp panel vibration.
