The 5AP1120.0702-F06 is a single-touch operator panel manufactured by B&R Automation for the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. The unit serves as a compact human-machine interface, presenting process data and accepting simple touch input in industrial automation systems such as packaging lines. By combining a color TFT display with an integrated resistive touchscreen, the panel replaces discrete pushbuttons and indicators, simplifying cabinet layouts while providing contextual information to PLC or motion controllers.
The TFT color display measures 7.0 in diagonally, so graphical elements remain legible while enclosure depth stays limited. Its native resolution is 800 × 480 pixels, and the screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, allowing status bars and soft keys to occupy dedicated areas without masking process graphics. The panel renders up to 16.7 million colors, which helps differentiate alarms, trends, and machine states. Touch input is captured through an analog resistive surface that responds to pressure from a finger or stylus. The associated serial 12-bit controller converts each press into coordinates for the PLC. Illumination comes from an LED backlight, which provides consistent brightness behind the TFT display.
The machined front bezel is made of aluminum with a naturally anodized surface that resists scratches and tolerates cleaning agents used in industrial environments. The front face has an IP65 protection rating, preventing dust ingress and shielding the display from low-pressure water jets. The rear housing has an IP20 rating for installation in a controlled cabinet environment. The LED source reaches half of its initial brightness after 50,000 hours, allowing extended operation between backlight maintenance intervals. The panel has a width of 212 mm and a height of 156 mm, allowing it to fit suitable panel cutouts while leaving room for wiring bends behind the unit. The anodized aluminum bezel also conducts heat away from the display, allowing the panel to operate without a fan.
