The 5AP1120.0702-000 automation panel is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. Designed as a front-mountable human-machine interface, it enables operators to supervise machine status, enter setpoints, and acknowledge alarms directly from the equipment enclosure. By combining a TFT color display with single-touch input, the panel simplifies control-station wiring and requires less space than discrete switches and pilot lights. Its aluminum front frame and sealed face allow installation on food-processing, material-handling, or assembly systems that are exposed to frequent washdown or dust.
The visualization area measures 7.0 inches diagonally and renders graphics at a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels, providing a wide interactive surface without exceeding the dimensions of a small machine door. A landscape-oriented 16:10 aspect ratio provides additional horizontal space for trends, recipe selection, and soft keys. The TFT display supports up to 16.7 million colors, allowing alarms, status bars, and photographs to remain distinguishable under ambient lighting. The laminated front is rated IP65, protecting the panel against dust and low-pressure water jets when it is properly mounted. This protection supports installation in control stations where the panel face may encounter airborne contaminants or routine cleaning.
The panel has a width of 212 mm and a height of 156 mm, allowing it to fit in standard 19-inch rack doors while leaving room for cable strain relief. Input is registered through an analog resistive touch sensor that detects a single contact point, permitting operation with a stylus or gloved hand without relying on capacitive coupling. The front frame is milled from aluminum and finished with a naturally anodized surface that resists corrosion. A polyester overlay protects the display from direct contact and wear during regular use. A 3 mm gasket compresses against the cabinet surface to maintain the front seal during repeated cleaning cycles.
