Product Description:
B&R Automation produces the 5AP1120.0573-F07 operator panel within the 5AP Single Touch Automation Panels series. This unit serves as a human-machine interface that presents process data to operators and accepts touch input for command entry. Its role in industrial automation is to bridge PLC logic with plant personnel, permitting parameter changes, alarm acknowledgment, and visualization through a compact graphic display mounted on machinery or control cabinets.
The visualization section employs a 5.7-inch diagonal screen that renders graphics at 640 × 480 pixels, giving a 4:3 aspect ratio suitable for standard SCADA pages. A color TFT panel is used, so each pixel is addressable for rapid refresh and clear motion depiction. Color depth reaches 262,144 shades, allowing fine gradient bars and status icons without banding. Illumination comes from a long-life LED backlight that keeps panel depth minimal and power draw low. Touch interaction is single-touch; resistive analog sensing registers finger or stylus pressure, making the panel usable when operators wear gloves. The front overlay is polyester to resist scratching, and a naturally anodized aluminum frame provides mechanical rigidity. The panel measures 212 mm wide and 156 mm high, enabling installation in tight enclosures.
The front sealing meets IP65, preventing dust ingress and protecting against low-pressure water jets when the panel is gasket-mounted on a door. Luminance degradation is gradual, with half of the initial brightness retained after 50,000 hours of operation to support multiyear service cycles before maintenance. The total mass is 1,100 g, so the device can be supported by lightweight swing arms without reinforcement. On the rear, the circuitry is protected to IP20, which suits typical cabinet environments and simplifies heat dissipation. Rear terminals accommodate power and fieldbus connections without obstructing cooling airflow.
