Product Description:
The 5AC901.CSSD-04 solid-state drive is supplied by B&R Automation for the 5AC CNC Addon Modules series. Installed inside a 5AC controller rack, the module provides nonvolatile mass storage for part programs, machine logs, and real-time buffering tasks in industrial CNC systems. It uses a 2.5-inch form factor and slides into the carrier without additional harnessing, so extra capacity can be added without changing existing cabinet layouts. It also operates silently with a fanless design, which removes the need for active cooling at the drive itself.
With a formatted capacity of 128 GB, the drive can store large tool libraries and production data locally. A maximum continuous read rate of 520 MB/s and a continuous write rate of 350 MB/s help reduce delays when streaming G-code or saving trace files. The module connects over the SATA 3.1 interface, so controllers that support 6 Gb/s links can use the available bandwidth effectively. Random access peaks at 75,000 IOPS on 4 kB blocks, which improves small-file handling during frequent read and write activity. Multi-level cell flash technology balances density and data retention, while SMART monitoring supports drive health tracking during operation.
The client endurance rating is 150 TBW, and the total write limit reaches 384 TBW for long-term use. The assembly tolerates mechanical shocks up to 1500 g at 0.5 ms, which helps protect stored data during transport or in vibration-prone equipment. Physical dimensions include a width of 13 mm, a height of 98 mm, and a depth of 105 mm, allowing direct insertion beside motion and I/O cards. The housing depth, combined with passive cooling, helps keep airflow paths unobstructed, and all mechanical edges are chamfered to reduce the chance of cable abrasion inside crowded enclosures.
