The 5AC900.1000-00 video interface module is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 5AC CNC Addon Modules series. It functions as an inline video adapter situated between a controller backplane and an operator display. By converting the controller’s integrated graphics signal, the module enables the continued use of industrial monitors in control rooms and on machine fronts. This provides visual feedback for process data, program execution, and alarm messages during automated machining cycles.
The host side of the adapter presents a DVI-I receptacle, so the CNC control can deliver both digital and analog video through one connection. Internally, only the analog pins identified as DVI-A are routed to the downstream line, which preserves compatibility with displays that do not use digital decoding. This analog routing is useful when the connected screen uses VGA signaling instead of a digital panel interface. The source plug is male, eliminating the need for an additional gender changer at the controller bulkhead. On the output side, the display lead terminates in a CRT DB15HD connector, which is the standard 15-pin high-density arrangement used on VGA-type equipment. That socket is female, allowing direct insertion of a monitor cable without strain-relief brackets or adapter blocks.
