Product Description:
B&R Automation's 5AC801.SDL0-00 is an add-on video interface module in the 5AC CNC Addon Modules series. It installs beside 5PC810 system units to extend visual feedback from the numerical controller to machine-mounted screens. This arrangement lets the control system send display data directly to remote operator panels while keeping the cabinet layout compact. By routing serialized display link signals, the board reduces cabling complexity and avoids the need for a separate graphics card in automated machining centers, pick-and-place robots, and other equipment that relies on live graphical process data.
The module uses an interface type of SDL/DVI, meaning it can transport either the proprietary high-speed SDL stream or a standard DVI digital signal through a single port. Electrical output passes through a 24-pin female connector built to the DVI-D format, and the hardware uses a female DVI-D connector so analog RGB cables cannot mate with it. The port can carry DVI and SDL signals, allowing the connected display to use the supported format. The unit has no hot-plug support, so the monitor must be connected before power-up. Supplementary pins carry the TMDS clock on pins 23(+) and 24(-), and DDC data on pins 6 and 7 supports EDID exchange.
Power and control references are hardwired on the module. Pin 14 provides a regulated 5 V rail for transmitter logic, while pin 15 serves as the common ground return to the host system. Differential video data for the proprietary channel leaves the board on pins 4(-), 5(+), which helps preserve signal integrity over shielded twisted conductors. For auxiliary functions, the module also exposes a USB low-speed path on pins 20(-), 21(+), allowing touch-screen or keypad inputs to reach the CNC CPU without an additional cable. Hot-plug detect is assigned to pin 16, and analog pins C1 through C5 remain unconnected on this version.
