The 5AC600.UPSI-00 is an uninterruptible power-supply interface module produced by B&R Automation and supplied within the 5AC CNC Addon Modules series. It bridges brief power outages so connected CNC controllers can finish active machine cycles and store process data safely before the control system shuts down. By monitoring its 24 V DC input and an external backup battery, the module automatically switches between sources and shields the load from voltage dips that would otherwise interrupt motion control electronics. This operating method helps prevent abrupt resets that can leave axes in an undefined state after a supply disturbance.

The unit provides deep discharge protection to keep the backup battery from dropping to damaging levels. It returns from battery to supply once the sensor detects 13 V at the battery input, and a separate transfer point of 15 V on the input line makes sure charging begins only after the primary supply has recovered. During recharge, the controller limits current to 0.5 A, reducing cell heating and helping preserve battery service life.
