The 5A501001 is the local unit of the remote display adapter designed by B&R automation, this local unit serves as the transmitter adapter, and it works in combination with a matching receiver adapter to form a fully function remote display adapter that can accurately operate a standard B&R Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display unit over a distance as high as 35 meters from the controller. The control distance of the remoter display adapter is more than three times longer than conventional display adapters. The 5A501001 local unit is about 171 millimeters wide with a thickness of 27 millimeters, it has a compact design and can be easily transported and handled. The installation and operation of the display adapter is also easy and straight forward.
The 5A501001 remote display adapter local unit features a volts direct current (VDC) power supply interface through which a 24 volts power supply must be attached. The voltage delivered through the power supply interface supplies the local and remote GS link unit. The plug required to connect the supply cable is delivered with the device. A time lag fuse with a rated voltage of 250 volts, and a rated current of about 2 amperes. A COM connection is also integrated into the local unit, this input allows the transfer of a serial signal to the GS link remote unit. A GS link cable can also be used to link the remote unit to this local unit through the GS link connection.
