The 5A5001.13 is a new-generation hard disk integrated into the 5600 and 5000 Industrial Personal Computer (IPC) series produced by B&R automation. This hard disk has been certified to be perfectly suited to meet the requirements of industrial applications. The hard disk functions as a mass memory, the disk contains 39,070,080 sectors each of which can hold up to 512 bytes of data. The total memory capacity of this hard disk is 20 gigabytes. Although the 5A5001.13 is produced with the latest technology, it is unsuited for use in high vibration and high shock environments. Also, the surface of the disk should not be touched as it is very thin and the slightest vibration can damage it.
5A5001.13 hard disk rotates at a speed of 4200 revolutions per minute, it takes the read/write head a minimum of 1.5 milliseconds to move from tract to track, and about 5 milliseconds to read data after the start-up of the hard disk.
