The 4XP0057.00-00B is a keypad module produced by B&R Automation for the 4XP Keypad Modules series. In an automation cabinet or pendant, it serves as a compact human-machine interface, letting operators trigger functions through illuminated membrane keys rather than accessing the PLC directly. By housing the switches and status lighting in a single sealed unit, it reduces wiring complexity on distributed machines and provides consistent feedback to the operator. Its polyester overlay protects the switching domes from oils and cleaning agents encountered on the plant floor.
For power, the keypad accepts a nominal supply of 24 VDC ±25% through an 8-pin male multipoint connector. Under continuous operation, it draws up to 0.35 A max, while startup demands can surge to 20 A max (<1 ms), so the control circuit must include a suitably rated fuse. Communication to the controller is handled by the X2X slave interface, and a station distance of up to 100 m permits installation on large conveyor lines without repeaters.
