Product Description:
The 4XP0043.00-00W keypad module is produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the 4XP Keypad Modules series. It serves as a compact operator panel that mounts on machine fronts to provide tactile command entry to a controller over the X2X fieldbus. Because it is arranged as a slave node, the unit relies on an upstream automation PC or PLC to interpret key presses and LED feedback, allowing decentralized human-machine interaction without a separate CPU.
The front panel carries a protection rating of IP65, so dust and low-pressure water jets cannot penetrate the faceplate during washdown procedures. Electrical power is supplied at 24 VDC ±25%, which allows the module to remain functional even when the cabinet supply drifts. Current draw peaks at 0.35 A, which helps with fuse and power supply sizing when several panels share one circuit. The X2X Slave interface supports station spacing up to 100 m when standard twisted-pair cabling is used, and the lack of X2X isolation means the bus reference is shared with the logic ground. An internal bus supply is present, so no extra feed line is needed for the onboard electronics. Each pushbutton features 4-color illumination, allowing machine states or alarms to be shown through dynamic backlighting, while an 8-pin male multipoint connector speeds installation during panel assembly.
At the rear, the housing is rated IP20, reflecting that this surface is intended to remain inside an enclosure. The molded plastic body spans 140 mm in width, with a height of 52 mm and a depth of 40.4 mm, which supports high-density placement on compact operator stations. A mass of 116 g places minimal load on lightweight doors or swing arms. The control surface includes a ring of 3 dedicated keys, giving operators an intuitive rotary selection mechanism that complements the standard pushbuttons.
