The 4XP0000.00-K75 is a keypad module produced by B & R Automation for the 4XP Keypad Modules series. It provides six programmable keys and ring illumination for operator signaling, giving machine builders a compact human-machine interface that mounts beside displays or distributed I/O nodes. In an automation cell, this module passes user commands to control logic and returns status colors to the key rings, reducing panel complexity while keeping interaction local to the equipment.

The keypad draws a maximum of 320 mA from a 24 VDC supply, and its power consumption does not exceed 8 W, so it can share low-current control circuits without overloading cabinet supplies. Communication to the PLC occurs through its X2X slave interface, and the device receives both signal and power over the internal bus, eliminating separate auxiliaries. An industry-standard 4-pin M12 connector carries the field wiring and supports hot-plug connection. Sealing on the front and rear surfaces meets front and back IP65 protection, helping resist dust and low-pressure water jets on either side of the mounting plate in food or packaging lines.

A station spacing of 100 m can be maintained between this unit and the upstream X2X master, giving designers layout freedom on long machine frames. The housing weighs only 450 g, minimizing load on lightweight swing arms, and its depth is kept to 52.6 mm so the enclosure clears shallow door cavities. Additional dimensions are 123 mm in height and 77 mm in width, fitting narrow operator posts. Six tactile keys support red, green, yellow, or white ring lighting for immediate status feedback. Operation is permitted up to 3000 m altitude, and internal bus power means no external converter is required in elevated installations.
